Our
work with
Tigers is just part of Care for the Wild’s practical work
to fight animal cruelty, promote animal welfare, rescue and help
animals in need and make a difference!
Care for the Wild International’s work to help
Tigers is wide
ranging and is funded by our
Tiger Adoption
scheme and donations
from supporters. As with all of our work we aim to make a difference
by providing practical help to aid animals in most need. Projects we
are involved in include fighting poachers and hunting in Asia,
stopping illegal trade in Tiger Parts (used in Traditional Chinese
Medicine), and training and educating local communities in the
plight of the Tiger.

Care for the Wild International works with the Phnom Tamao Wildlife
Rescue Centre in Cambodia to care for orphaned Indochinese
tiger
cubs. Orphaned at very young ages, these tigers were not able to
learn essential survival skills from their mothers and so would not
survive if they were put back into the wild.
When the young cubs are rescued, they are taken to the Phnom Tamao
Wildlife Rescue Centre in Cambodia where they are lovingly cared
for. Initially CWI quickly steps in to help by providing emergency
vets, supplies and medicines to nurse them back to health. We can
then provide a home for them, in a purpose built enclosing
encompassing large areas of natural habitat.
CWI
is currently providing long term support for two
tigers. This
includes providing funding for a dedicated carer, food, enclosure
building and maintenance, and veterinary treatment. |
Much of the work we do is funded by our
Tiger adoption scheme
which allows people to support these helpless cubs. The rest of our
work is funded by donations from our supporters.
Care for the Wild is involved in projects in Asia aimed
at educating and informing local people about the plight of the
Tiger. In addition, CWI teamed up with the Offices of His Holiness
the Dalai Lama and the Wildlife Trust of India to promote awareness
about the dangers of illegal trade of Tiger parts for Traditional
Chinese Medicine.
We are also working to
protect wild Tigers against cruel poachers in Asia. In addition
to fighting the poachers on the ground we are working against the
illegal trade in Tiger parts which are used in Traditional Chinese
Medicine. |
Our aim is to make a difference and help
Tigers wherever they are in need which is why we are fighting to
stop poaching in all parts of Asia and the illegal trade in Tiger
parts all over the world.
